Vat wood

Here's what it looks like after a lite planning.

Vats

It even comes with a serial number.

Vats

This is all Bubinga. A little worse off, but still lots of useable wood...

Vats

This is all really heavy old growth african red mahogany. It has some holes, but has been heavily saturated with oils over the decades of use as a tanning vat. It's in remarkably good shape.

Vats

Turns out they are all made from Movingui, and Bubinga.

Vats

Went to Santa Cruz to look at some old leather tanning vats.
